Destroooyed my legs today. Didn’t wanna do it, had to be done. I didn’t cardio this morning. 2 reasons for that:
1- I only do cardio 3 or 4 times a week. It’s not super necessary. Unless your goal is cardio related. 🤷🏻♂️
2- cardio generally involves a lot of legs, and on leg days I don’t wanna tire my stems out. Save that for the weights. 🏋️♂️ Day 3 is in the books. Tested that new shirt today. Pretty good first run. Happy hump day everybody. 🤙

I had a super rushed day today! So I knelt down at the Altar of Brodin and I prayed hard to the God of Gainz to fuel me through this chest workout.... he did not disappoint! 💪

Felt pretty good to be.... ok let’s be honest, I felt awful. First day back from vacay, new diet, energy was low and I felt a little stiff. Even still, those first few days are some of the toughest and you have to rise to the challenge! First day of 12 weeks - done!

PURPOSE is something I took for granted after I finished up my last program. I had successfully dropped from 220 to 199 and figured “I’ll just keep working out now and see what happens.” But I didn’t have any clear cut goals, and I didn’t have a solid timeline. Without those, I had no vision of success, and no deadline with which to hold myself accountable. And so, I became.... deflated. Unmotivated. Just going though the motions. My weight crept back up to 207 (unintentionally)
I have a Vegas wedding this weekend, and when we get back, I’ll be starting another 12 week program with a solid diet. Whatever you do, don’t just workout with no cause, no idea, and no goal. You will be working towards your own defeat, because you’ve given yourself no clear path to victory.

Beard is going very well, OR not well. All about your point of view. I think this is the longest I’ve let it go... and I’m pretty sure it’s fuelling my workouts at least a little! 💪😆🧔
Roadblocks. I hit a huge roadblock myself this week performance wise. On shoulder day, of all days! Roadblocks aren’t always poor performance though. What are some of yours, and how do you overcome them?
Music. We more or less all need it to pull us through our workouts. Unless your either spending too much time socializing, or you’re one of the FREAKS that doesn’t mind whatever music the gym happens to be playing, which is rarely acceptable.

So what inspired you to get fit? For me the answer is pretty cheesy.
It was a disaster movie. Doesn’t matter which one. As I was watching it I wondered:
If something terrible happens, do I have what it takes to protect the people I care about, or the people around me at the time? Am I strong enough? Am I smart enough? Can I run far enough?”
All the answers were no at the time. Maybe they still are! But if something should happen, I hope I’m in decent enough shape to be able to help those that are closest to me, and not be totally dependant on someone else to save me and those I care about.

Even though I’m still feeling a little sick, tried my hand at some incline close grip bench press. Had a great time with @nickrusby
making jokes in the middle of my sets. Nothing like a trying not to laugh while you have heavy ass weight hovering right over your face! 🤣
So, this cold has really got me down. This is how it affected my workout.... it’s not pretty, I know.
