It strange yet wildly acceptable that things hardly seem to go the expected way in football. That's the very essence of it.
When Miki arrived, it seemed as if he'd be the man we've been waiting for. Someone who can win games on his own. Someone who can change games in a blink of an eye. But as cruel a game football can be, things never really worked out too well.
Despite that, our midfield Armenian won us our first ever Europa League title, scored that sparkling scorpion kick against Sunderland and scored a memorable goal against Tottenham at Old Trafford. These will be memories that we might as well cherish forever. And associate with what could have been a glittering United career. But it was never meant to be.
As curtains come down on this short lived stint, humble Miki is probably doing what he has loved. Give an assist. His very last one for Manchester United. Sadly so.
He may be heading off to a rival, I've never believed too much in hating players from rival sides. And not just Arsenal, wherever Miki goes, I'd hope he proves critics wrong. Critics that have been on his back for some time now. Footballers like Miki have thrived on proving critics wrong, haven't they?
Thank you, Henrikh Mkhitaryan. It was bitter sweet, but something worth cherishing. Go on and make yourself a hero at Arsenal. Good luck. ❤️❤️ Our Midfield Armenian.
