All too often we think that being healthy is a punishment which is why we quite often fail. I too am guilty of this but over the last 4-5 years I’ve made small change some of my biggest habits which has definitely made me healthier, for example:
Water every morning as soon as I get up to get my metabolism going
If I feel tired I forgo the workout and I go for a walk or swim, the next workout is way better as a consequence
I eat 6 times a day, whilst sound hard it isn’t, who says they have to all be different?
I don’t focus on calorie intake instead I focus on fueling my day
I let the way my clothes feel on me determine my results not the scales
I’ve accepted my exercise limitations and embraced what my body can do, I’m not a runner but I am a lifter
I do cheat, but with the purpose of reminding myself why I like being good most of the rest of the time
Crash diets are bad for our systems, throwing ourselves into un chartered workout territory can cause injury and ultimately it’s about prolonging our lives not looking good for 3 months of the year. So start small, but make one healthy habit change now and see what sticks.
